Ranchu's are a peculiar and well-liked fancy Goldfish. Similar in appearance to the Lionhead Goldfish, the fish features an egg-shaped body but the narrow area in front of the wide, 'split' (or double) tail is at a more turned down angle. This fish is also well known for not having a dorsal fish and therefore swims in a distinctive manner. Their body size can grow to around 20cm in length (excluding the tails) although this does depend on aquarium size, feeding and general husbandry.
